| Visioneer, leader in intelligent imaging solutions have now been confirmed as the No.1 scanner manufacturer in the UK by independent research conducted by Romtec GfK. |

In September, Visioneer represented 30% of the scanner market by unit share, taking the lead away from HP who had dominated the UK market for nearly a year. Visioneer have been a major player in the US market since 1994 but have only started to seriously tackle the UK market since 2000. Visioneer in the UK have now beginning to replicate the tremendous success of their US colleagues who also achieved No. 1 position in the US last year.
As well as establishing a strong brand in the retail market, Visioneer are also working very closely with a number of key OEM resellers and will continue to fully support both of these key markets as the Visioneer name gets even stronger.
Commenting on the success, Peter Trapmore, European Managing Director says "We have seen tremendous growth of the Visioneer brand during this year and are delighted to reach the No.1 position. Melanie Denton, Senior Research Analyst at Romtec GfK comments "Since December 2000, Visioneer have experienced excellent sales with recent months proving the most successful. The retail channel has been a particular success story with phenomenal growths and a market share of 41% in August. In the non retail channels, Visioneer have also enjoyed a strong growth with sales up by 273% over last September."
